Two Officers, 12 Soldiers Killed By Boko Haram Have Been Named

Fourteen soldiers killed by Boko Haram insurgents in the North East region between May and July this year including two Majors have been named by the army headquarters, Abuja. The soldiers alongside one other killed while serving under the United Nations Mission in Dafur (UNAMID), Sudan will be given state burial today and would be given full military honour. The soldiers included Majors A.T. Fambiya and Abdullahi Kanoma, Staff sergeant Keku Adebayo, Corporal Ahmed Usman, Corporal Mathew Ade, Lance Corporal Adamu Ibrahim, Lance Corporal Suleiman Gimba, Lance Corporal Salisu Saduaki, Usman David and Lance Corporal Ajani Olusola. Others are Private Zakariya Dauda, Daniel Kantoma, NyaBassey, Bassey Emmanuel and Enyenihi Effiong.

A statement signed by Colonel John Agim of the directorate of army Public Relations yesterday said "Nigerian Army will be holding a National Burial forits officers and soldiers that died in active service at the National Military cemetery, Umaru Musa Yar'Adua way."
The statement said President Goodluck Jonathan and other top government officials will bein attendance.
